Las Palmeras Inn
The architecture of this 150 year-old hacienda, represents the traditional vintage andean house with roaring log-fires, adobe walls, wooden beams, tile roofs with its towering palm trees in its garden. It is tucked in Quichinche valley, surrounded by lushy mountains, two kilometers from the center of Otavalo and located less than two hours away from the capital city Quito-Ecuador, north from the equator.
At 8,500 ft (2,750 m.), the valley has a climate of perpetual spring. By day 65-75 F/17-21 C° and by night 55-60 F/11-14 C°, propitious for ever-blooming perennial gardens with hibiscus, bougainvillea, orchids, cholan, eucalyptus, avocado, black-current, etc., which attract a profusion of birds including hummingbirds, vermilion fly-catchers, etc.
The sun rises on the sacred Imbabura volcano (4630 m./15,190 ft) and sets on the sometimes snow-capped Cotacachi (4,944 m/16,220 ft).
Las Palmeras Inn is near bustling indigenous markets of Otavalo, Peguche, Zuleta, also waterfalls, lakes, mountains, volcanos and parks.
